Ohana

Friday evening was my brother's ORD parade.

i'm so, so, so very proud of him. seeing him in that white uniform that only Commandos get to wear, and doing the slow march. i'm so thankful for having my brother. and my sister, of course. my entire family.
seeing my father smile with pride when he spotted my brother through the company line.. it was a mix of joy and sadness inside. i know somewhere out there, Mum's watching. she's with us, smiling in the pictures beside my brother. she's with us, watching him as he puts on his red beret. i know. she's with us.

been feeling down the past two days. there are things i can't get used to. and people to miss. i'll get by anyway, i don't have an alternative, do i. forgive my tone of self-pity and inassertiveness. life's taking a toll on me.

need to escape. my long overdue cycling trip, where are you?

dearest.
