recently i realized that one of my friends behaves like this. she judges the people around her and never fails to poke her nose into other people's affairs. what's worse is that she actually goes on and gossips excessively behind their backs. mind you i have nothing against gossiping (fyi it's natural unless you're mute) but i do dislike people who gossip excessively. note, excessively.
i've been tolerant of her behaviour, trying my best not to pass off any comment that might sound like one worth passing on to another person whenever she talks to me. i guess it's been working cos she seldom approaches me now. smart me. well anyway that's not my point.
point being, she likes to judge people. yes yes. how do i put it? let's see. we'd have a case in point then. makes it much easier.
Do you normally judge people by how they dress in uniform?
for example, a complete nerd in school would be expected to have poor dressing sense to her. well i guess its the norm for people to think that this nerd would not put much effort into dressing up but to say that he would have poor dressing sense, it doesn't make much sense. well anyway. she saw this nerd outside one day looking very handsome and dressed up smartly. and she told him, wow you've changed.
i mean, that's where the whole crux lies. who are you to say that he's changed when you've not met him once outside until now? its just ridiculous. he hasn't changed at all, he's been dressing up like this outside of school since forever. you know what's the only thing that's changed? its YOUR judgement of him. it's not even an impression anymore, because you were so determined that you wouldn't spot him in something decent ever. that's what sets apart impressions and judgements: how you change them.
impressions change when you take in the changes you observe with an accepting attitude. judgements change when you take in the changes you observe, with a look of shock and a gaping mouth in a shape of a O.
sigh. i think that case was enough to make my point.
well you could say i'm over-sensitive because it's not even me that's the victim. but i find that most of the time, many people misjudge me. and that happens often before they meet me. it's utterly unfair. i don't know if it makes much sense to you because maybe you haven't gone through it but anyway.. just thought i'd get things straight.

enough ranting.
i did my hair on tuesday as planned :)

heh. red highlights. nana said it looked more like purple =\ well it ain't that obvious i guess. so i don't think im dyeing my hair before school re-opens. will see how it goes :) ahaa took a long time in deciding the colour! initially i was going to do brown. was 90% convinced by the hairdresser! but cleared my mind and firmly decided on red ;) yay happy :D
last day of the AdamKukubird camp was rather enlightening hahaha. learned that some people rather good speakers :P heh. well i think Amin is the most sincere of them all. Aw. touched, touched. and a very shy Zhengyang in front of his mum. haha it was really funny, he didn't even introduce us to his mum! what an ass. but overall, rather fun :)

my dad fetched me home at 10pm on the last day and i was the last person left in school for a good whole 15 minutes or so. T.T it's really not a very nice feeling. it's effing dark. well anyway this was the 1st night when the band camp was going on. explains the lights on the second floor. i put this picture in comparison with the NTU campus in China and man, it really really matches. ahahaha.
